October 24, 2023 – Emmy award-winning (Rural By Choice) producer Cory Hepola has teamed up with The Brookshire Company / CVN, a national commercial real estate advisory, to begin filming a docuseries called MY TOWN. The series will explore the opportunities and challenges of living and doing business in rural America.

Brookshire’s CVN initiative exists to help rural communities attract businesses to their towns. As part of CVN’s ongoing mission to advocate for rural America, Cory Hepola joined the team to tell the stories of rural towns throughout our region. Under the MY TOWN banner, Cory will lead a film crew across the upper midwest in 2024 to capture the stories of rural lifestyles.  Beginning in January, the crew will start laying the groundwork for stories in Perham, Minnesota; Farmington, Minnesota; Beaver Dam, Wisconsin; the Iowa Lakes Corridor and Rugby, North Dakota. Several other communities are still on the fence as the October 31st deadline for consideration and commitment draws closer.

The MY TOWN docuseries promises to bring rural living to life in a unique and compelling way. Hepola states, “All of us come from these small towns and can vouch for the livability, lovability, and opportunity that waits in these out-of-the-way places.” Through MY TOWN, Cory will use his distinctive brand of storytelling to break down popular misconceptions and negative stereotypes of rural life.
